Broken Biscuit Club Live At Solfest 2009 Promo

It might have been over a month ago but we've finally got round to putting together a Solfest video of our exploits. Big thanks to Michael Dog, Suhail Khan and Nick Wallbank - the organisers of the Dogs In Space Tent. The video is a combination of footage from inside the tent, footage of our projections and a section from our DJ set.

electrik avenue

A busy few days for the Broken Biscuit Club as we played every day over the weekend. It was good to finish the weekend though with a more relaxed time at the armchair sessions down at electrik in Chorlton. Plus I finally got to sample the Blueberry cake, supplied by Chu Chu, that Luke was waxing lyrical about. I've got to say it's pretty damn good and definitely up there with the best treats money can buy!

Mela/Bollywood Special at Contact Theatre

There's a sneak preview of the Mega Mela ShowReal at Contact on the 24th of July and we're there to provide entertainment in the Lounge area. Expect the usual Broken Biscuit Club magic except this time with an Indian flavour. We will be drawing upon the visual and audio delights of South Asia. Be prepared to see projections on the walls featuring Bollywood idols and Indian film classics all cut to the finest music from India and beyond. So whether you're into classic Bollywood or Indian influenced hip hop from the US it's sure to be a treat! As ever the audio and visuals are supplied by Andy Memery and St. Neon to enrich even the darkest of souls. Broken Biscuit Club Mela Preview Special - Link

This is not our first Indian themed night so if you want to know what it's like check out our 4,000 Miles to New Delhi mix here - Link

And if you can't make that one pop on down to electrik in Chorlton on the 26th of July where we'll be playing as part of the one deck armchair sessions.

If you can't make either of these dates fear not because you can still get a bit of Broken Biscuit Club in your life. Just select our compilation disc (number 168) from the free jukebox in electrik sit back with a drink, and maybe some bangers and mash, and soak up the music.

Omar Souleyman

The Man, the Myth, the Legend... the mighty Omar Souleyman.

We went to see Omar and his band on Wednesday and I'm pleased to say I was blown away by what I witnessed. This is the first time they've been out of the Middle East and hopefully it won't be the last. If you ever get chance to see them GO they are amazing live and this Youtube clip doesn't do them justice. Mental Syrian folk techno pop music at it's finest! Special mention to Camp Rave Dave who simply couldn't keep up with the pounding beat!

Painting By Numbers

We at Broken Biscuit Club are fans of good music and also good album covers. However what's even better is a good album cover replicated in MS Paint in a rather shody fashion. If that's your thing too check out Paint my Album. If you feel inspired you can even add your own creations!
